Getting started

Set up a new Mother computer: place it, power it on, create the first Owner account, and add other users.

1. Place and power the unit

  1. Put the unit on a stable surface.
  2. Keep the front intake and rear exhaust unobstructed — do not push either end against a wall, fabric, or cable bundles.
  3. Use the supplied power cable and connect it to a suitable circuit.

2. Create the first Owner account

The first account is created through Mother setup: when the machine starts with no users, the built-in desktop walks you through claiming the unit and creating the initial Owner (administrator) account. Direct /v1/auth/signup calls are rejected on a zero-user machine — first-account creation deliberately goes through setup.

3. Add users

Owner only.

  1. Sign in as an Owner.
  2. Create a signup token and share it with the new user (POST /v1/auth/signup_token, or the equivalent control in Settings). A token is single-use; set an expiry or leave it open.
  3. The new user completes signup with the token and gets User access.

4. Sign in and verify

  1. Sign in as any user — login returns an access token used for API calls; the desktop handles this for you.
  2. Open Genesis and send a first message to confirm a model is ready.

Where to next

  • Inference — how models run and how to call them.
  • Genesis — sessions, projects, tools, and skills.
